“TNR is a good thing”

At first I wasn’t sure about TNR. But, then I found out that cats can have up to 4 litters a year. And, females can get pregnant at 4 months of age! Surgery is the only way to save stray kittens from being another animal’s dinner.

We’ve seen cases of pregnant kittens under 6 months of age - and from our experience, it doesn’t end well. The mother is too young to care for the kittens and abandons them.

That’s where we can help in more ways than one - through TNR and Foster based rescue.

It can expensive to spay or neuter an animal. Each costs anywhere from $50 to $200 depending on the clinic that is avaialble.

Rescue is our main program. And, there are many ways to “rescue”.

Did you know that kittens puppies who need to be bottle fed are often euthanized at government shelters because they don’t have anyone to feed them? And, sometimes we are given less than 4 hours to pick up.

Our rescue network is critical to pull these babies from shelters and get them into the hands of fosters - NOW.

None of that can be done without your donation so we can literally save innocent lives.

Rescue is our main program.

There are many ways to “rescue”.

Rescues of kittens is more expensive than adult cats. Kittens and Pregnant/Nursing mothers eat 3 times what an adult eats. Formula and wet food can get costly.

The Backyard Sanctuary’s cats live a privileged life.
